Our Story

Walibi Rhône-Alpes park through the ages

For 45 years, thousands of visitors have passed through the park's gates to experience thrilling adventures with family and friends. The Walibi Rhône-Alpes park has seen generations of people grow up, making children who have become parents dream, and working with the grandchildren of its first employees, creating one big family!
The park has changed a lot: its name, its mascot, its scenery, its attractions... but it has always kept the same objective: to offer its visitors a unique experience.

A PARK ROOTED IN ITS TERRITORY

Walibi Rhône-Alpes works closely with the town council of Les Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin, the community of communes of the Balcons du Dauphiné, Isère Tourisme and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme to develop partnerships and visibility operations that contribute to the region's dynamism.

The public/private partnership established with the Balcons du Dauphiné enables the park to support the communauté de communes in one of its missions: promoting tourism by enhancing the area, its welcome and its tourism offering. For example, visitors to the park can find a photo area showcasing the intercommunal community, as well as a map of the Balcons du Dauphiné area.

On a more local level, the park is committed to an annual plan to subsidize the sports associations of the commune of Les Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin, in order to facilitate the renewal of outfits for youth teams and the replacement of equipment.

In November 2022, Walibi Rhône-Alpes joined the "Sites Touristiques Emblématiques en Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes" network for the period 2022-2028.

Thanks to its ambitious transformation plan begun in 2016, and still underway, presented to the Tourism Commission of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the park is proud to join the "Sites Touristiques Emblématiques en Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes" network for the period 2022-2028.

Winning sites will benefit from personalized regional support through effective networking and enhanced communication initiatives, to develop their image and appeal, in conjunction with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme agency. Particular attention will be paid to developing more sustainable projects, in response to the Region's objective of making Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Europe's leading destination for sustainable tourism.
